This tour is a great introduction to Tanzania’s two most intimate and scenic national parks; Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. If you want to see maximum wildlife in minimum time, then we recommend this safari.

With a chance to see the big five, trace the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway and enjoy the exceptional scenic beauty of northern Tanzania, this a great add-on or introduction for those short of time.

Day 1
Lake Manyara
The tour begins in Arusha (or Kilimanjaro International Airport), with a drive to the incredibly beautiful Lake Manyara. This lovely park offers acacia woodlands, grasslands and dense forest.

There is a good selection of wildlife, and an afternoon game drive should reveal elephant, giraffe, wildebeest and baboons, and of course the scenic alkaline lake at the park’s centre, with its host of flamingos.

Day 2
Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro
Another chance to admire the giant fig and mahogany trees of Manyara, as we take a morning game drive through the park. This tends to be an early start, to catch the morning wildlife activity and maybe see an elusive leopard. In the afternoon, we make the short transfer to Ngorongoro, driving through the incredible highlands en route.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most famous safari destinations in the world, due to its zoo like ease of game viewing. It is a world heritage site, with more than 20,000 animals sharing the crater floor.

Our afternoon game drive is guaranteed to give spectacular views of elephant, wildebeest and buffalo. This is one of the best places in the world to spot the big five, so keep your eyes peeled for black rhino, leopard and lion, amidst the other species.

Day 3
Ngorongoro Crater
Our final day and another early start to make the most of it. We make a second descent into the crater for a last game drive before heading back to Arusha, where the tour ends.
