Located in Tarangire National Park, famous for large herds of elephant and spectacular baobab trees.
A short drive from the safari town of Arusha, Tarangire National Park is arguably Northern Tanzania’s most interesting park.
Sanctuary Swala is located in an exceptionally private section of the park offering visitors a luxurious and very exclusive safari experience.
Elephant in particular love to come to the camp to drink at the water hole and the big cats are often seen among the massive baobab trees.
Sanctuary Swala has been completely rebuilt to the highest eco-friendly
standards with an emphasis on maintaining a low carbon footprint.
Each of the twelve luxurious canvas pavilions is shaded by tall acacia
trees and all are within sight of the well-frequented water hole which
regularly draws lions, leopards and resident bull elephants for which
Sanctuary Swala is famed.
The tents feature a spacious open plan arrangement with comfortable king
or twin beds, campaign chairs and plush sofas, as well as en suite
bathroom with both indoor andoutdoor shower. Each tent has its own personal attendant who will attend to guests' every need.
The main dining area, deck and library are lifted on stilts around an
enormous and ancient baobab tree. There is now also a stunning infinity
swimming pool overlooking the water hole.
The camp has internet access.
Huge herds of elephant, greater kudu, and fringeear Oryx are all easily spotted.
Due to the low volume of traffic in the park, this is a very special,
original safari viewing experience.
We have many favourite spots to go to for sundowners or having a quiet
lunch served in the bush.
