Vuma Hills Tented Camp is built up on the hills overlooking the plain. The tents are shaded by woodland, although the animals do still wander through.
The spacious tents are dotted around the restaurant, bar and
swimming pool. The evenings are lit up with a brazier and the
chance to see the 5 resident honey badgers, civit cats, genet
cards and bush babies that arrive for their evening meal.

These unusual dinner companions are sometimes accompanied by
porcupine. These nocturnal animals are rarely seen and especially at such close proximity.

16 tents on wooden platforms with thatched roofs. All have en suite bathroom facilities.
All tents can be double, twin, single or triple.
Tents are fully furnished.
Tents are mosquito proof - spray is provided.
Electricity provided by generator - 24V with UK style 3 pin sockets.
- Power is not 24 hour
- Power is available for lighting and recharging batteries
Swimming pool - towels provided.
Restaurant and bar.

Special diets can be catered for with prior notification.
Tea and coffee is served after each meal and is available
complimentary at all times of day.
Soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are available from the bar throughout the day.

Game drives are taken in open, adapted 4WD vehicles. The vehicles have tiered seating and roof shading.
The camp has 2 types of vehicle a Maruti jeep for a max of 6 people, and an extended Landrover style vehicle with 3 rows of seats for a max of 9 people. Game viewing is shared unless a private vehicle reserved..
Day excursions to trek in the Udzungwa Mountains National Park can be pre-booked.

Mikumi National Park:
“The park boasts 60 mammal types, 400 birds and over 1200 plant species. Such diversity should not be underestimated.�

The animals and birds species are also different in each of these habitat types. Lion, leopard, elephant, crocodiles,
zebra, giraffe and varied antelopes are regularly seen on the plains with Hertebeest, Sable, Greater Kudu, Colobus Monkey and Hunting Dog are found in the Miombo woodland area.

The ecosystem is rather special as there are 4 major and distinct vegetation zones converging in Mikumi: miombo woodland from southern Africa, arid bushland from the north, the coastal zone to the east and the mountains of Uluguru and Ruhumero to the north and west making a unique ecotonal area.
