Ruaha River Lodge occupies a unique and privileged position set around a series of rocky kopjes in a bend of the Great Ruaha River, blending seamlessly into its surroundings and affording views up and down the river.
Game is drawn to the river from the neighboring hills and guests Can witness the great wildlife dramas unfold from the comfort and protection of their self contained natural stone and thatch 'banda'.
With resident hippos and crocs there is always plenty of action to watch and several incidents of lion or leopard kills have been seen from Ruaha river lodge.

24 individual stone and thatch rooms with en suite bathroom facilities.
The lodge is divided into 2 separate restaurant and bar areas; the hilltop bar and the riverside bar; each restaurant is hosted.
Each room is sited along the river bank and has a large private veranda.
All bandas can be double, twin, single or triple. Extra beds can be added on request.
All rooms have lounge area with sofa and armchair, coffee table, writing desk.

Electricity provided by generator - 24V with UK style 3 pin sockets.

Game drives are taken in open, adapted 4WD vehicles.
The vehicles have tiered Seating and roof shading.
The camp has 2 types of vehicle a Maruti jeep for a
max of 6 people, and an extended Landrover style vehicle with 3 rows of seats for a max of 9 people.
Game viewing is shared unless a private vehicle reserved..

Safari Air Link operate daily flights to Ruaha from Dar and Zanzibar.
These flights also connect with Selous, Mikumi and the Southern Highlands.
Ruaha flights also connect through to Katavi and Mahale.
Ruaha is a 2 hour drive from Iringa Town. The park gate closes at 6:30pm
Road transfers from Iringa can be arranged with your booking.
Ruaha National Park:
Ruaha National Park is named after the river Ruaha that runs
through the southern portion of the park.
In Ruaha National Park you find Roan antelope, Sable antelope, Greater Kudu, Lichtenstein hartebeest, all rarely found further north and yet at the same time can find Lesser Kudu and Grant's gazelle not common further south.
While you will find the full range of predators such as Lion,
Cheetah, Striped & Spotted Hyaena, Leopard, Side Striped
Jackal, Black backed jackal, and good populations of Wild Dog in Mikumi, Ruaha and Katavi National Parks.
No major game migration occurs in Ruaha such as those found
in the northern parks so game can be seen in Ruaha at any time of the year.
