N’Kaya Game Lodge Thornybush Game Reserve

Tastefully decorated in warm, earthy indigenous woods,N’Kaya combines luxury with natural simplicity. Its four thatched suites are built around the edge of a clearing,distanced from one another to ensure guests total privacy. Shaded by tall trees, the suites look out over the camp’s superb pool and towards the backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains below.
Each suite consists of a large bedroom, two en-suite bathrooms, and a lounge. The lounge can be converted into a second bedroom, en-suite and joined by interleading doors.

A typical day: The day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld when you depart in an open landrover with your experienced Rangers and Trackers who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush. After an exhilarating hunt for tracks to see what the animals have been in the area during the night, and tracking down whatever you find, breakfast is ready and served either at the camp or in the riverbed or out in the bush. In the middle of the day, walks are offered to those who would like to join in. These walks are tailored to suit the guests’ interests and fitness levels and are accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker.
Spa treatments are also available for those who would prefer this. After a late lunch, set off on the afternoon game drive which extends into the evening to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight. Return to the camp for dinner,
sharing the day’s experiences.
