Madikwe River Lodge is located on the banks of Groot Marico River inside the diverse Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe River Lodge's convenient location - only three and a half hours from Gauteng and a mere 45min by aircraft - has ensured its popularity as being easily accessible with spectacular bush settings.
16 comfortable and secluded split-level thatched chalets surround the main lodge, each individually decorated to create a rich African feel, with en-suite bathroom and outside shower, full range of guest amenities, separate lounge and private wooden decks overlooking the tranquil forest and river.
An outdoor boma is located on a central island in the river, accessed by a wooden bridge, with early morning breakfasts served under Acacia trees. Madikwe River Lodge is the ideal venue to host intimate wedding ceremonies in an African ambience.

Madikwe Game Reserve
Madikwe Game Reserve is situated in the North West Province and is bordered by Botswana in the north, the Dwarsberg Mountains to the south, and the Marico river to the east.
The diverse habitat in the reserve, from acacia savannah to riverine, ensures a unique combination of species, including wild dog, cheetah, lion, white and black rhino, buffalo and elephant. The birdlife is spectacular and it is also one of the few reserves in South Africa that is malaria free.
