The name Hobatere means “Find me�, and once you do, you will enjoy a warm welcome and personalized service.

Hobatere Lodge is located 80 km north of Kamanjab on the western border of the Etosha National park, situated in a concession area of 32 000 ha, which is home to a wide selection of game including Lion, Leopard, Oryx, Eland, Cheetah, Giraffe, Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra and Elephant.

Our activities centre around day or night game drives, bird watching and guided walks, affording guests ample opportunity to view the abundance of wildlife and endemic species in the area. We also have a hide overlooking a nearby waterhole and a sundeck with panoramic views, which is floodlit for part of the night.

Accommodation at the lodge consists of 14 thatched rooms and bungalows nestled between large Mopane trees. A rustic tree house in a dry riverbed overlooking a waterhole, situated a short distance away, offers accommodation for the more daring.
Overnight in the tree house for a sense of real adventure and in the morning be collected for a hearty breakfast at the lodge.
Tree House:
Our rustic tree house is situated away from the lodge, which offers accommodation for the more adventurous.
Overlooks a waterhole and consists of two beds, as well as a table and two chairs.
No bathroom facilities, however guests are provided with a chemical toilet and hand basin.
Shower facilities are provided for at the lodge - guests will have their own chalet for freshening up.
A choice of either having a dinner pack taken along to the tree house, or having dinner at the lodge, which must be booked in advance with the lodge.
Guests will be collected from the tree house in the morning, at a time discussed with them, for breakfast.

Activities on offer
Afternoon Game Drive on part of the 32,000 ha concession area with a wide variety of game to be seen.
Night drives are offered after dinner each night giving guests the opportunity to observe nocturnal animals.
Early morning bird watching and guided walks before breakfast.

Game viewing deck with a view point over a waterhole, which is also floodlit at night until approximately 22h00

− Groups of 5 and more guests get one afternoon Game Drive free of charge.
− Night Drives and Guided Walks are optional and will be charged extra
− Please note that Guided Walks are only offered to guests staying for 2 nights at the Lodge.
− Children under 12 years cannot participate on the night drives
− Children under 16 years cannot participate on the guided walks
− For families with children wanting to participate in the afternoon game drive, the activity must be booked in advance and
separate arrangements will be made
