Mara Timbo Camp

mara timbo camp aims for highest standards in accommodation, cuisine, service, wilderness experiences, game drives, and cultural knowledge. It is an upmarket exclusive camp offering a superb holiday getaway experience in tranquility and luxury.

Mara Timbo Camp is ideally situated in the most untamed bush in the Western part of Masai Mara, near Oloololo escarpment, where the classical Africa movie “Out of Africa� was produced. The Camp is situated directly in a loop of Mara River and offers its guests a perfect panoramic view of two huge herds of hippos from your bush pavilion as well as from the dining area. The mara timbo Camp is embedded in 300 acres of land, owned by a Masai landlord. The area allows walking safaris, beautiful sundowners, bush cuisines and night game drives.
Mara timbo camp is accessible by road (5 hours drive from Nairobi) and twice a day by air from Nairobi (Air Kenya, Safarilink and Fly 540) through Kichwa Tembo airstrip. Flight time from Nairobi is only 45minutes.

Mara timbo camp is located in world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve where there is an abundance of animal and birdlife in the vast savannah.the great migration every year from July to October 1,2 million wildebeest will travel miles from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara.

Luxury Tents

mara timbo camp pays a great attention to the privacy of our guests. We offer seven spacious and luxurious tents with tastefully decorated interiors, warm blends of colour and unique furnishings. All materials are natural and from the area, so the camp fits perfectly into the African environment.

The spacious 45sqm luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms are all under canvas with grass thatched roofing, providing cool temperatures during the day. Every tent stands on a 65sqm big terrace equipped with a cosy sitting area and low beds, a swing, the possibility of private dinner and a bathtub, so that our guests are able to watch the hippos in the Mara River while taking a bath. The neighbour-tent is far enough away.

The facilities in the tent include a king-size bed, a safe deposit for your valuables, enough space for placing the clothing’s, a bathroom with double sinks, hot and cold shower, flush toilet, 220/240volt power supply and amenities for use by the guests.

Restaurant.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served under the open African sky . Additionally, the Camp has three cosy restaurant islands which ensure maximum privacy to the guests. in the cool Mara evenings, campfires are lit.

The Lounge
décor is tasteful with huge lounge chairs, artworks from local Masai Villages, with a well-stocked library. pre-dinner drinks around the campfire are a delight with the resident naturalist entertaining and narrating stories about the local Masai tribe.

is set centrally located in the lounge area with the campfire ablaze, as our professional barman treats you to the most intriguing cocktails.
