Hogmead is home to several families of warthogs, many of which will come to the protected area to rear their piglets, and the name ‘Hogmead’ alludes to this combination of warthogs and honeymooners (some of which are the hogs themselves!). With just six rooms in the main house, Hogmead offers a highly
personalised experience with exceptional service and expert hosting from Jay Macleod. The house has an extensive bar, three large sitting areas with lovely views over the grounds into the Giraffe Sanctuary and the Ngong Hills beyond.

ACCOMMODATION @Hogmead Nairobi : Six large rooms in the main house offer spacious accommodation, with lovely views over the gardens and beyond to the wilderness of Hog Ranch. In the distance, Karen Blixen’s famed Ngong Hills frame the sky with their gentle curves. Each of the bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom, and they are all different sizes, with the Master Bedroom being the largest. Four bedrooms are upstairs, whilst
another two are downstairs. Total Capacity: 12 beds.

CUISINE @Hogmead Nairobi: All food is freshly prepared in the extensive kitchen. We try to source as many of our ingredients as possible from local farm produce and the kitchen garden as well as local farms. Breakfasts of fresh fruit, cereals and a variety of cooked breakfasts; home-made buffet lunches; three-course dinners in the outdoor dining room or under the stars. We cater for all food preferences and allergies – please inform
us about any dietary requirements prior to arrival.

WATER @Hogmead Nairobi: Our water comes from a borehole. It is safe to shower and bathe in. Mineral water is provided in all rooms and on activities. We try to minimize plastic waste so whilst all of our drinking water is mineral water we decant it from large recyclable containers; bottled water is available on request.
