Tour: Historic Route and south- Omo valley
Duration: 19 Nights & 20 days

Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa and city tour of Addis Arrival at Bole International Airport (Addis Ababa) where you will be meets by a Experience Ethiopia Travel representative and transfer to Ras Hotel and will start a Sightseeing tour in the city of Addis Ababa that includes the National Museum, which comprises of many archaeological and historical findings including the famous hominid fossil remain of ‘Lucy’
locally known as ‘Denknesh’ meaning wonderful. Visiting this museum is having an introduction for your visit to the whole Ethiopia. The Entoto, a 3200 meters in High Mountain, which is the site for the first palace of Emperor Menelik-II, the founder of Addis Ababa. Here you there is a church of St. Merry, where Emperor Menelik II crowned Emperor in it you will also admire the stupendous view of the city with its surrounding plains and volcanic cones together with its breathtaking air. St. George Cathedral and Museum; a beautiful church with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church architecture and founded by Emperor Menelik-II after he defeated the fascist Italians at the battle of Adewa in 1896. Here you will have a brief about the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and visit its ancient parchments and beautiful Handicraft. Overnight in Ras Hotel.
Day 2: Addis- Debremarkos – Bahir Dar
After breakfast drive to Debremarkos on the way visit the 13th C monastery of Debre Libanos, Portuguese Bridge and Blue Nile Gorge which resembles the Grand Canyon in USA and you will have lunch stop in Debremarcos and have city sightseeing and keep driving to Bahir Dar. Overnight at Gasa Hotel.
Day 3: Bahir Dar
Today you will start your sightseeing tour from Bahar Dar, which is a modern town on the shore of Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile River that contains about 37 islands. You will have also a good chance to see the Local market area and how the community will conduct their money.
Afternoon drive to visit the Blue Nile Falls, locally known as ‘Tis Isat’
meaning ‘water that smokes’, 35 kilometres downstream from the point where the Nile River leaves the Lake Tana. The walk to the falls passes through lush reverine woodland teeming with colorful birds. After lunch enjoy a boat ride on Lake Tana to visit the Famous ancient island monastery of Ura Kidane Meheret that is one of the several in the area containing Frescos, elaborate painted ceilings, church crosses, crowns and attires of former Ethiopian kings and emperors. In most of Lake Tana monasteries time has stood still and the world of the Old Testament yet alive. In the late afternoon you will have a chance to visit the bezawite palace and the panoramic view of the town with the beautiful sunset over the Tana Lake. Overnight Gasa Hotel.
Day 4: Bhirdar – Gondar
In the morning drive to Gondar through the very interesting landscape after check in to the hotel visit the 17th C palace compound of Goneddrian kings, which is also called African Camelot, Fasildas swimming pool which is still in use for Timket Ethiopian epiphany held every 19th of January, and Debreberhan Silassie church which is rich in icon paintings from New and Old Testaments of the Bible. Overnight in Lamergayer hotel.
Day 5:Gondar- Debark – Semien Mountains – Debark Morning drive to Debark and a day excursion to the Simien Mountains National park. Here you will enjoy half day trekking through the surrounding Scenic views and to see the endemic Gelada Baboons with the breathtaking environment. You will be highly surprised about the chain Mountains of Semien National Park which is registered as the World Heritage Site by UNISCO and in the late afternoon drive back to Debark.Overnight at Giant Lobilay Hotel. .
Day 6: Gondar- Debark – Axum
Morning drive to Debark and proceed to Axum trough the Simen chain of Mountains and trough the beautiful Tekeze River valley. Here you will have many photo stops to take a picture in this unforgettable Topography.

Day 7: Axum
Axum is famous for its more than 2000 year old Axumite steles measuring some of them up to 33m high, the bath of Queen of Sheba, King Kaleb's and other kings tombs, archaeological museum which is widely rated as Ethiopia's best, the church of St. Mary of Tsion, where the original Ark of covenant is housed. Legend has it that the son of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon of Israel, King Menelik I brought the original Ark from Israel to Axum, overnight in Yeha hotel.
Day 8: Axum – Wokero – Hawizen
Leave Axum and drive to Mekele on the way visit the 5th century BC temple of Yeha and the ancient church of Debre Damo and Wokero Kirkos and Daniel Korkor and other Rock churches. Overnight at Local Hotel in Hawizen
Day 9: Hawizen - Mekelle
Today you will visit the different rock churches of Tigray among them one of the famous will be the 10th century, the ancient church of Aberha-Woastebeha(the introducer of Christianity in Ethiopia during the Axumite period)The church also contains many valuble artifacts including a prayer cross said to have belongs to Frumentius, the first Bishop of Ethiopia.you will also visit tiny Dugma Selassie ancient church and continue driving to Mekelle for your overnight at Axum Hotel.
Day 10: Mekele-Lalibela
Drive to Lalibela which is very well known for its rock hewn churches. On the way enjoy the beautiful landscape of the country and many Amhara and Tigre villages and admire the way of living the local communities in the rural places and the way of agricultural styles. Overnight in Lal hotel.
Day 11: Lalibela
In the morning the amazing 11 ROCK HEWN CHURCHES of Lalibella . Afternoon spent visiting more of the rock churches in Lalibela town, and in the evening you will have coffee ceremony and drinking “Honey wine” in one of the traditional dancing houses. overnight in Lal hotel.
Day 12: Lalibella
In the morning half-day excursion by mule to Asheton Mariam to visit the Church that lie on the top of the mountain. The Church itself is similar in style to other rock churches, but the panoramic view of the surroundings is spectacular from the mountaintop. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon spent visiting more of the rock churches in Lalibella town. Overnight Lal Hotel.
Day 13: Lalibella – Kombolicha
After break fast drive to Kombolecha and take your lunch in Woldiya at Lal hotel andthen visit the famous Lake Hayik and the ancient church of Stephen(estifanos in Ameharic) in the Lake and keep driving for your overnight at Sunside hotel.
Day 14: Kombolich – Addis Ababa
In the morning you will drive to Addis Ababa through the very interesting Landscape and to see the endemic the blooding Heart of Baboon and continue to Addis Ababa through Debre Brehan town. Overnight in Ras Hotel.
Day 15: Drive Arba Minch
Drive to Arba Minch via Wolayta Sodo, about 505 km south of Addis Ababa.
This drive will take us along some of the Rift Valley Lakes and we will stop shortly at Lake Ziway, best known for its birdlife. We will also drive through the Wolayta farmlands, with views of the lush green hills and valleys. You arrive late in the afternoon at Arba Minch - meaning 'Forty Springs' in Amharic. Arba Minch takes its name from the bubbling streams that cover the groundwater forest occupying the flats of the town.

Day 16: Drive Jinka:
If the day is Thursday, Key Afer Market can be visited en route. After breakfast drive to Konso where colorfully costumed dress, impressive terracing of the Land and unusually engraved wooden statues used as grave markers can be seen. Further along the route visit the Woito people live in the area around Woito River and Tsemay village. Continue driving to Jinka for overnight in orit Hotel.
Day 17: Jinka- Mursi- Jinka
After breakfast leave Jinka and drive to Mursi village to visit and appreciate the very attractive culture of Mursi tribe. They are renowned for the strange custom followed by their women who, on reaching maturity, have their lower lips slit and circular clay discs inserted. Proceed to Mago National Park. After a picnic lunch in the late afternoon drive back to Jinka. Overnight at Orit Hotel
Day 18: Jinka – Turmi
After breakfast drive to Turmi through Dimeka for the visit of Hamer people and their village. Turmi is a small town, which is the base to visit the Hamer village. Hamers have remarkable hairstyles made from ochre, water, and binding resin. They rub the mixture into their hair then twist the strands repeatedly to create coppery-colored locks. This is a sign of wealth and welfare. Hamers are considered to be masters of body decoration. Overnight at Buska Lodge furnished Tent.
Day 19: Drive to Arba Minch
Drive back to Arba Minch: on the way visit the Cushitic speaking Arbore people and their villages. The Abore people adorn themselves with beads and aluminium jewellery. Overnight at Tourist hotel
Day 20: Visit Doze village and then drive back to Addis Ababa After breakfast in the early Moring visit the Dorze tribe and their village, famed for their bee hive shaped houses and their weaving skills.
Weaving is a primary profession for many Dorze. They are also farmers, who prevent soil erosion by ingenious terracing of the mountainsides. Around their huts they have their own little garden with vegetables, spices, tobacco and enset (false-banana or musa ensete).Then after we drive to Addis Ababa through Hosahina road. In the Evening a fare well diner party in one of the Traditional Ethiopian restaurant with dances from the different ethnic Groups. Transfer out to the airport for departure back to home.
