These are two countries that are still unspoiled by tourism and where you explore the forested areas for Chimpanzee and Mountain Gorilla. Uganda, "The Pearl of Africa", is situated astride the Equator and boasts a wide and diverse landscape - from rugged, snow-capped mountains to the vast flat lands. Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcano National Park (Parc National des Volcans) is by far Rwanda's major international attraction.

Day 01
On arrival in Entebbe you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon you will transfer by boat to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary for an afternoon visit with the chimps. Overnight Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel.

Day 2&3
Drive to Kibale Forest (7 hours) with lunch en route. You will pass through Fort Portal, forest and tea plantations. Meet your guide and enter the forest in search of Chimpanzees and ten other primate species. 2 nights Ndali Lodge or Kibale Primate Lodge.

Day 4&5
Another morning forest walk to look for chimpanzees. After lunch drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3-4 hours) following the Ruwenzori Mountain Range. Take an afternoon game drive on the way to your lodge. Board the launch for a cruise on Kazinga Channel. Later visit the Crater area of the park and Lake Katwe. 2 nights Mweya Lodge.

Day 6,7&8
Today do a Maramagambo Forest Walk, visiting bat caves where one can see thousands of bats and possibly pythons and monitor lizards catching bats. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Take your first gorilla trek taking a picnic lunch with you. The next day take your second gorilla visit. 3 nights Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 9,10&11
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to Kisoro, via Mbarara. Here you will met by our representative and transferred to your lodge situated next to Volcano National Park. The next day you will be transferred to the park for your first gorilla visit. You will meet your tracker and spend the day tracking the Mountain Gorilla. Take your second gorilla trek. Time permitting, a visit to the local market and town will be arranged. Take an optional drive to Lake Kivu and lunch at Izuba Hotel. 3 nights Gorilla Nest Lodge.

Day 12
Take your third gorilla trek before being driven back to Kigali having lunch en route. Overnight Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day 13&14
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. An optional tour or dayroom may be booked. Depart on your evening overnight flight.
